Sunny start but at the end of the day, overcast and rain.

After having written yesterdays dispatch we went out and took a walk in the surroundings of our camp. Our mental state went directly from 0 up to the top of the scale due to this stroll. We came across fresh tracks from bears and moose and we realized once again, that this really is pure wilderness and were we want to be. Once again we enjoyed life!
Today was a great day, we woke up with lots of courage. We didn´t spend more than 4 hours in the canoe but still we´ve managed to paddle 35 km, much more than we thought we would. Feels like we are getting much more control over the paddling and the fast moving water, but it is still fast! The waterlevel of the river is still slowly rising and it´s hard to know when it will end. However, all signs points towards that it wont go much higher. I´m sure we will find out!
Tonight´s camp is safely situated on a hill, 100 meters from the water. It was a bit longer to carry the equipment, but weneed one nights good sleep! |
