E 25514327 N 6878031 Kulu River, 17 degrees C, 22;39 1st of August, sunny with 6.7 m/s southerly wind
At six p.m. we realized that the waterlevel in the river was raising so fast, that it would was us out before the sunset at 11 p.m. We packed everything together, loaded our heavy canoe and set off down a winding, fast river. We traveled 12 km;s in an hour!
Scenery is spectacular with lush green, steep mountains covering most of the eastern half of the river. Lot´s of sediment, so it is impossible to see floating trees or other obstacles in the river. So far, easy going, though.
We´re forced to continue tomorrow, whether we like it or not. Waterlevels are rising fast, no place to camp. |
