2004-07-26 - Sunny, but emotionally chaotic
Titti is presently on her way to Moscow. I feel a profound emptiness, sadness and I didn’t even get time enough to say how much I love her!
I just can’t comprehend that she won’t continue to enlighten this Expedition with her presence. Unbelievable!
Titti not being here will make our documentation work so much more difficult. The same applies to her profound social skills of getting to know all children and women which cross our path. Her pedantic way to take care of the equipment, her laughter, her comradeship and all those enlightened moments when she really shows how much she loves this life, it will be dearly missed.
Suddenly, I realized that the two of us who are still here, have way to much gear to carry, even though a major part of Tittis equipment will be left in Moscow as backup just in case something happens. How we will get our hands on that equipment is still not known. On top of that, we’re one person short when it comes to carrying and dragging all the equipment.
It all feels unreal! The reason I didn’t get time to tell her much I love was due to the fact that we all went up at 5 am to edit our first part in a series of maybe 10 programes to be broadcast on Swedish television. Editing was finished 1 single minute before she had to leave.
Unbelievable! We just found out that the town of Magadan won’t have any hot water for ten days… |
