2004-07-06 - A week before leaving!
A mere week to go before we´re off to Kolyma. There´s no great feeling of happiness, we´re just tired. Knackered due to all the busy preparations, all the worries regarding permits, overweight and, the hard part is the subject of leaving all loved ones behind. Who knows if we ever see each other again? we don´t have all permits needed yet. Neither visas. But we still have a feeling that it will all solve itself, as usual, just a few minutes before leaving!
We´ve started packing today. We´re extremely heavy this time. just have a peek at the equipment list on this sajt! we´ve got a nice, roomy, fantastic cot (Moskoselkåta) with a woodstove. It is heavy, but this is our only chance of handling that extreme cold over a long period of time. On top of that, we´re carrying 35 kg:s of technical equipment! The idea is, starting from the 15th of July from Moscow, that we will leave daily dispatches in this site.
We´ve added on plenty of weight ourselves. Titti 8 kg.s, Johan 11 and me, mikael, well, just 18.7 kg:s. It will be needed, no doubt! the last month though, have been plagued with hard work getting everything in order, with that constant worry: What have we forgotten this time?
